CPC-I

I am a Clinical Professional Counselor – Intern and Nationally Certified Counselor, primarily working with adolescents and adults on navigating major life transitions. I also enjoy providing support for the following concerns/populations:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Bipolar Disorder

  • Body Positivity

  • Borderline Personality Disorder

  • Neurodivergence

  • LGBTQ+

  • Women’s Issues

  • Trauma

  • Relationship Issues

  • PTSD

Therapeutic Approach

After receiving training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), I seek to implement these evidence-based modalities in my practice working with adolescents or adults who are members of the LGBTQ+ community, neurodivergent, and/or struggling with depression, anxiety, or a history of trauma. By utilizing mindfulness-based stress-reduction skills, I am able to provide validation, active listening, and collaboration in the therapeutic process. I work to establish a strong therapeutic alliance with my clients, where they feel heard, understood, and respected through the cultivation of a safe space to explore emotions, thoughts, and challenges without fear of judgment.

Education and Experience

After graduating with my Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing from the University of Arkansas in 2018, I completed a year of service with AmeriCorps by providing behavioral intervention to high school students in my hometown. It was through this experience that I was encouraged to pursue a career in counseling by both my mentors and the students that I worked with. I received my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Southern New Hampshire University in 2022 while providing in-home behavioral support to children with autism and patient rehabilitative work at a psychiatric residential facility.

Personal Interests

An Arkansas native, I lived there for twenty-five years prior to joining my partner in Las Vegas, NV after we were relocated here for his military service. As someone who is not the biggest fan of the desert, I enjoy traveling anywhere that will get me near water or trees! When not providing care to clients, I love being with family and friends, including my two dogs, listening to podcasts, watching horror movies, writing, and reading.
